Our story / Chikhaldara, Maharashtra
Named for the people who grow it.
Before the name on the bag, there was a community. Before the coffee in your cup, there were these hills.
Begin with the name
The name
comes first
A name we did not invent.
Korku is the name of the community native to Chikhaldara, the hill town in Maharashtra's Satpuda range where this coffee grows. The brand takes its name from the people who grow it, not the other way around.
Korku smallholders grow coffee under forest shade, alongside pepper and cardamom. The cherries are picked by hand and dried whole in the sun before the beans make their way to our roastery in Amravati.

02 / The place
Coffee, with the forest around it.
Chikhaldara sits in the Melghat hills. At 1,100 metres, this is high-grown robusta: small plots, a living canopy, and a coffee story rooted in Central India.
The tiger on our label belongs to that sense of place. The forest is part of the story, not a backdrop we added later.
03 / The coffee
A whole cherry.
A longer story.
Every Korku lot is naturally processed. The fruit stays around the seed as the cherry dries in the sun; it is then hulled and sorted. That is the starting point shared by our medium roast, our dark roast, and the beans we sell green.
We buy directly from growers and roast in small, logged batches in Amravati. Korku Coffee is a licensed product of Satpuda Naturals. From the growing to the roasting, this is a story grounded in Maharashtra.
From cherry to green
Direct from growers
We buy from the growers themselves, keeping the connection between the harvest and our roastery close.
